Venue
The 2006 Section Meeting will be hosted by the
Mathematics and Statistics Department of
Calvin College.
All events except for the
Friday dinner
will be held in the
Prince Conference Center
on Calvin's East Campus.
Lodging
The conference center includes a hotel, and we have reserved a
block of rooms for the nights of the conference.

Friday Dinner
This year's dinner is being underwritten by Prentice Hall and
will be held in the Hauenstein and Pfeiffer Rooms at
Frederik Meijer
Gardens and Sculpture Park, located 3 miles north of the Calvin campus
along the East Beltline.

In addition to the talks above, we will have a five
invited sessions presented by colleagues from within Michigan.
These will be shorter than the plenary sessions, but longer than
contributed talks.

Contributed Sessions
Abstracts for contributed sessions will be submitted via an online form
this year. The deadline for sumbissions was February 28, 2006. Late
submissions may be included if there is room in the schedule. In particular,
students who want to present are encouraged to submit an abstract even though
the deadline has passed. Decisions regarding the scheduling of late
submissions will be made approximately one week prior to the meeting.
Important information for speakers:
- Sessions will be 15 minutes long.
Please time your presentation accordingly.

LCD projectors, standard overheads projectors, and "visualizers"
(projectors that project digitial images of plain paper "overheads") will
be available. We can arrange for laptops to connect to the projectors if
necessary.

Michigan NExT Symposium
The seventh annual Michigan NExT Symposium will take place on
Thrusday, May 4, from 3:00 until 6:30 with dinner to follow.

Program Committee
In November of 2005, the Michigan MAA lost one of its prized members and
major contributors. Janet Andersen, the 4 Year College Vice-Chair
of the Section and Professor of Mathematics at Hope College,
died in an automobile accident. She was 47.
Janet's loss will be deeply felt by all of the professional colleagues
who enjoyed the privilege of working with her.
At the time of her death, Janet was leading the program committee in
the development and organization of the schedule of speakers for
the 2006 Section Meeting.
The remaining members are
